Ryan Crowder has worked in some of the nation's finest professional theatres. Recent regional acting credits include Steven Dietz's The Final Adventure of Sherlock Holmes at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, School for Scandal at the Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, multiple productions at the Monomoy Theatre in Cape Cod, Inherit the Wind at Austin Playhouse, and Taming of the Shew at the Hidden Room Theatre, for which he won the Austin Critics' Table and B. Iden Payne Awards for Acting in a Lead Role.
Ryan is co-founder and Producing Artistic Director of Penfold Theatre Company, as well as a director, teacher and fight choreographer. In these latter capacities, he has worked with organizations like Young Audiences of Texas, Zachary Scott Theatre Center, Scottish Rite Theatre, Shakespeare Under the Stars and Ohio University. Furthermore, Ryan has coached performers of every age and education level, from elementary to graduate school, and from volunteers to working professionals.
Ryan holds an MFA from the Professional Actor Training Program at Ohio University and a BFA from Abilene Christian University. Beyond that, he has trained with two Tony-Award winning regional theatres, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Ryan and his supportive wife Erica moved to Austin in the summer of 2007.
